Key Responsibilities:
CNC Programming:
- Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using G-code and/or CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies.
- Optimize cycle times while maintaining quality and tool life.
- Set up and operate CNC milling, turning, or multi-axis machines.
- Load programs, set tool offsets, and perform test runs.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as required.
- Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, CMM, gauges).
- Ensure components meet dimensional and quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot machining or programming issues.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Reduce scrap and rework through continuous improvement.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Ensure proper use and care of tools, fixtures, and measuring instruments.
- Follow all safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education
- Diploma / ITI / Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, CNC Machining, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of CNC milling and/or turning operations.
- Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code, M-code).
- Experience with CAM software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and machining processes.
- 2–5 years of experience as a CNC Operator and Programmer (can be adjusted).
- Experience with 3-axis / 4-axis / 5-axis machines (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Good time management and communication skills.
- Experience with ISO standards and quality systems.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing practices.
- Ability to train junior operators.
- Shop-floor manufacturing environment.
- May involve shift work and standing for long periods.
- Exposure to machine noise, coolants, and metal materials.
